This series was developed by Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine in collaboration with the American Academy of Physician Associates, the Association of PAs in Oncology, HealthTree Foundation, and Med-IQ.
Founded in 1968, the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA) is the national professional society for PAs (physician associates/physician assistants). It represents a profession of approximately 190,000 PAs across all medical and surgical specialties in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, US territories, and the uniformed services.
AAPA advocates and educates on behalf of the profession and the patients PAs serve. AAPA works to ensure the professional growth, personal excellence, and recognition of PAs. AAPA also enhances their ability to improve the quality, accessibility, and cost-effectiveness of patient-centered healthcare.
APAO is a non-profit 501(c) specialty organization affiliated with the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA) that consists of PAs working in the field of oncology. It is the only national organization representing PAs specializing in oncology. Our members work in all oncology disciplines and practice in both clinical and research settings.
Our Mission: To Advance the Role of PAs in Oncology by Driving Innovation and Fostering Excellence in Patient Care and the Profession.
BU CCE has been providing continuing education activities for healthcare professionals for over 50 years. BU CCE designs, implements, and assesses evidence-based education for the healthcare team to advance their skills/strategies and performance, optimally leading to improved patient outcomes. We deliver activities in a wide variety of educational formats at the local, regional, and national level.
We are dedicated to the educational, professional, and personal development of interprofessional clinicians and to the health of the public. We demonstrate this through: leading quality improvement efforts of healthcare professionals within our academic medical center as well as with community-based practices nationwide with the goal of enabling healthcare teams to achieve improved performance in practice; partnering with other organizations to address community and population health issues; integrating strategies within our education to improve public health; and leveraging practice and health data to teach healthcare improvement and build improvement capacity.
